Snorkelling / Diving

Lizard Island is placed uniquely on the edge of the continental shelf, presenting an underwater wonderland for snorkelers and divers alike. Vibrant, colourful reef species with an exploding variety of marine life surround the island, offering guests of The House the inimitable opportunity to snorkel the island’s fringing reef directly off the white-sand beaches mere metres from their front door, or alternatively take one of the available private boats out to one of the many well-known diving spots.

East of Lizard Island lies the Ribbon Reefs, a remote 120km ‘string’ of 10 individual coral reefs located in a Green ‘No Take’ zone. Due to their isolated location, the reefs support a huge marine biodiversity, from the giant clam to the Potato Cod which can reach weights of 30 kilograms at Cod Hole.
